Victim & Survivor Support Resources for Justice-Impacted Families

Franklin County Prosecutor's Office – Victim Witness Assistance Unit
Provides information and support to victims and witnesses navigating the criminal justice system, including assistance with sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, stalking, and homicide cases.
Eligibility: Victims and witnesses of felony crimes in Franklin County.

Ohio Attorney General's Crime Victim Compensation Program
Provides up to $50,000 in financial assistance for medical and counseling expenses, wage loss, replacement services, and/or funeral expenses.
Eligibility: Innocent victims of violent crime and their families in Ohio who have incurred out-of-pocket expenses not covered by insurance or other sources.

Columbus Division of Police – Victim/Witness Services Unit
Assists victims and witnesses affected by violent crimes to regain normalcy in their lives by providing emotional support, crisis intervention, and community resource information.
Eligibility: Victims and witnesses affected by violent crimes in Columbus, Ohio.

OhioHealth Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio (SARNCO)
Provides immediate care to survivors of sexual assault at OhioHealth emergency departments and other local facilities, including 24-hour emergency room advocacy, a 24-hour sexual assault helpline, aftercare advocacy, and prevention programs.
Eligibility: Survivors of sexual assault in Central Ohio.

LSS CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence
Provides safe shelter to those in high danger, as well as other services that promote safety and healing, including counseling, advocacy, legal advocacy, support groups, and shelter recreation.
Eligibility: and survivors of domestic violence and their children in Franklin County.

Mount Carmel Crime & Trauma Assistance Program (CTAP)
Provides hope, healing, and compassionate healthcare to those in need, including counseling and support services for victims of crime and trauma.
Eligibility: Individuals affected by crime and trauma in Central Ohio.

Ohio Domestic Violence Network (ODVN)
Provides domestic violence resources, advocacy, education, and support to survivors and their families.
Eligibility: Individuals and families affected by domestic violence in Ohio.

Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center (OCVJC)
Provides free legal assistance to victims of crime to help them assert and protect their legal rights, including assistance with the Ohio Attorney General’s Crime Victim Compensation Program.
Eligibility: Victims of crime in Ohio seeking legal assistance and advocacy.

CRIS Ohio – Victims of Crime Assistance (VOCA)
Provides confidential and trauma-informed services to help individuals and families understand their rights, build safety, heal, seek justice, and obtain compensation after a crime, including safety planning, legal advocacy, court accompaniment, and referrals.
Eligibility: Individuals and families in Ohio who have been victims of crime.
